Is it cheaper for me to rent roundtrip or
oneway?
That must be determined by the miles and days you require to make the move.
Typically if you are moving a short distance it works out cheaper to return
the truck back to the dealer where you rented from. Once you get around the
100 mile range it may be cheaper and easier to leave the truck at your
destination. Your local dealer will be glad to calculate both ways for you.
-
Do I have to fill the truck with fuel before
I turn it in?
No, but you must turn
it back in with the same fuel qauge reading that it had when you rented it.
Make sure the dispatching dealer records the amount on your contract before
you leave his lot. Also check the mileage out on the contract that it is
what the truck shows.

What if I have a breakdown with the
equipment?
While every effort is made to ensure that will not
happen, anything mechanical and made by man can sometimes fail. On each
contact holder and also stencilled in on all the equipment is a toll free
hotline number to call. If the problem occurs in a town with a U-Haul
dealer, call them to see if they offer repair services, and if not they can
get in touch with the local marketing co. for U-Haul and get a repair truck
on it's way.
-
What about insurance. Do I really need to buy
yours?
Most automobile policies will not cover rental trucks, and no
credit card company will. Our damage waiver will protect you against
accidental damage to our equipment . Be sure to ask your dealer to explain
all that it covers.

How do I make a reservation ?
At least 1 week in advance, more if possible, contact the
nearest dealer to you to inquire about reserving a truck on the day you need
it. If you wish to pick up in another town other than the one you are in,
you may call the toll free reservation line at 1-800-GoUhaul
They can then take your credit card number and have a truck waiting for you
when you arrive. Please be aware that there are certain peak rental
times where availability of equipment may mean a short wait untill the
equipment is found for you, and sometimes we must substitute equipment if
your size is not available.

I wanted to reserve a intown move on a truck
on the last weekend of the month but was told I could not.
The last weekend of the month is typically one of the hardest
times to supply everyone with equipment. If you can plan your move during
weekdays there is a better chance of getting a truck. If you know well in
advance that the last weekend is the only time you have to move, call around
to different dealers in your area. All company owned moving centers and some
independant dealers have what is known as a rotation truck. This is a truck
assigned to that particular location strictly for in-town moves only. Ask if
they have one and if it's available the day of your move. Please bear with
us as we try to accomodate everyone possible.

How do I find the nearest location to me?
Check the Yellowpages of the directory under Truck Renting
and Leasing or Trailer Renting and Leasing. If there is not a listing you
can call 1-800-GoUhaul to find one.
